The quantity
of solar energy which comes to earth exceeds the energy of all the
world deposits of oil, gas, coal and other energy resources.
Solar
energy in Russia has the greatest theoretic potential, more than
2000 billion tons of fuel equivalent. Sun light energy may be transformed
into electricity thanks to solar cell batteries (SB). The advantage
of SB is caused by the absence of movable parts, their high reliability
and stability. They are very simple in installation. The energy
produced is totally free. SBs are very light, easy to operate and
maintain. They use normal beam and scattered solar radiation. Modular
construction of SBs gives an opportunity to create units of any
power. It makes them very challenging. |

The sphere of their use is very wide. SBs are very suitable
for
- electric power supply of yacht navigations;
- electric power supply of navigation lights and telemeters;
- battery charging;
- power supply of signaling systems and other equipment on
remote stations;
- power supply of pollution-free places of public entertainment,
etc.

Depending on some certain operation conditions different
functional model types are produced. A special equipment for automatic
tracking of the sun motion across the horizon is also produced for
SBs.
SB’s operating character is different; the power of one
BS may vary between 5 and 200 W, with the voltage of 12/24 volt,
and working temperature varying between -25 and +50 C.

For detailed estimation of a solar power station the
following data is required:
- plot latitude and longitude;
- list of current sinks and power specification of each load;
- energy demand per month.
The system includes:
- solar batteries (SB);
- charge controller;
- rechargeable batteries.
In case AC current is required, a power converter is
used. To maintain the continuity of service of the station, it is
possible to install a wind power generator or connection to the
nearest power transmission line.

stations on the beacons and ranges of Barents and White seas. During
